Will and Inventory of Bollard family in relation their farm at Higham 1762
And I do hereby further charge and as to for and concerning all that one capital messuage or Dwelling House and the several closes and parcels of land hereunto belonging with their and every of their appurtenances late inheritance of Richard Town and situate lying and being in Whitley Booth aforesaid of the yearly rent to the ladies of the said forest of Five Shillings and Eight Pence I do hereby will order and direct that the said John Higgins and his heirs shall stand fined and seized of the last mentioned messauge, lands, premises with their and every of there appurtences as keeper in trust to the use and behalf of my son James Bollard his heirs and assigns for ever subject nevertheless and chargeable with the payment of the sum of Fifty Pounds to my son John within twelve months after my decease and as to for and concerning all that messuage and tenament and the several closes or parcels of land hereunto belonging situate lying and being in Higham Booth in the possession of James Hargreaves and of the yearly rent to the Ladies of the forest of five shillings and One Penny I do hereby will order and direct that the said John Higgins and his heirs shall stand fined and seized of the said last mentioned premises with the appurtancentes to use and behalf of my son Henry Bollard his heirs and assigns forever subject nevertheless and chargeable with the payment of the sum of Twenty pounds to my son John within twelve months next after my decease.
And as to for and concerning all that South end of one messauge or Dwelling house as the same is now divided and the South West End of one barn and the several closes or parcels of land thereunto belonging and being in Barley Booth and in the possession of JAMES STARKIE of the yearly rent to the Ladies of the said forest of five Shillings and Ten Pence I do hereby will order and direct that the said John Higgins and his heirs shall stand fined and seized of the said mentioned messauge lands and premises and every part thereof with their appurtenances unto and to the use and behalf of my son John Bollard his heirs and assigns forever and i do hereby give and bequeath unto my said son John One Hundred and Thirty Pounds to be paid to him out of my Personals and both of my said daughters the sum of Forty Pounds to each of them to be paid as they shall attain the age of twenty one out of my Personal Estate by my Executors hereafter mentioned within.
And as to for and concerning all the rest residue and remainder of my Personal Estate of what sort and nature whatsoever situate and being after the payment of my just Debts and funeral expenses I do hereby give and bequeath unto my wife and sons JOHN, WILLIAM, JAMES and HENRY share and share alike and lastly I do give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my Dearly Beloved Wife the two parcels of land now in the possession of Thyas Broom and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife and four sons Executors and Executries of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I shall hereunto set my hand and seal the Thirteenth Day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand and Seven Hundred and Sixty Two.
Signed sealed Published and Declared by the said Testator as and for his Last will and Testament consisting of two sheets of paper in the presence of us who have in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as witnesses thereto;
